Free Entry
There is no charge for enjoying the delights of Hackfall.
Access and Footwear
There is no disabled access to Hackfall, the terrain makes it impossible to provide access for wheel chairs and unless you are reasonably fit you will find the walk back up the slope challenging.
If you want to explore Hackfall at a reasonably leisurely pace then allow at least 2 hours.
The Hackfall Trust has done much to improve the footpaths but despite their best efforts there are a few areas that seem to be perpetually muddy. The recommended footwear is good hiking boots and in particularly wet conditions wellies are an alternative. The high path in Common Wood at the Mickley end of Hackfall is at the top of a very steep slope in places and particular care should be taken here.
