Nutwith Common to Hackfall Wood
Saturday 24th July – 10.30am – 3.30pm
Discover the history and beauty of Nutwith Common, Nutwith Cote and Hackfall on this moderate 4 mile walk. The paths are steep in places and can be very muddy and slippery.
Meet: Nutwith Common, Grid Ref SE227789. On the Masham to Grewelthorpe Road.
Cost: £3 per adult, under 16’s free.
You will need:

Bat Walk
Friday 20th August – 7.30pm – 10pm
Join John Drewett of North Yorkshire Bat Group for an evening walk discovering bats in Hackfall Wood. Approx 3-miles. The paths are steep in places and can be very muddy and slippery.
Meet: Location will be given at time of booking.
Cost: £3 per adult, under 16’s free.

Hackfall Wood Celebration Weekend & Heritage Open Day
Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th September
Explore Hackfall Wood on this special weekend and take part in free guided walks at 11am and 2pm. Further details will be available nearer the time.

A minibus shuttle service will be available from Masham to Hackfall.

Heritage Open Days 11-12 September 2010 –
FREE Events inlude:-

-Landmark Trust – Ruin Open Days – 10am -4pm – Sat 11 September: Guided Hackfall Walks 11.00am and 1.30pm (starting from the Ruin).

- Sunday 12 September – Family Day – 11am -5pm, including:Penny Plain Theatre “Summer Mummers” (part of the Ripon International Festival) at Fountains Pond, Storytelling at Fishers Hall and Printmaking at the Grotto.

- Marquee serving teas will be open behind the Ruin Terrace.

- Artistic Celebration of Hackfall in Masham and Grewelthorpe (look out for details).

Aislabie Gardens Tour
Saturday 16th October – 10am-5pm
Join the Historic Parks & Gardens Study Group on this fascinating tour of Studley Royal & Hackfall. Discover the history of the Aislabie gardens and the connections between the two sites. Meet at Studley Royal for a guided tour of the water garden. Following a break for lunch you will visit Hackfall for a guided tour. You will then return to Studley Royal, stopping en route for refreshments.
Meet: Fountains Abbey. Exact location to be given at time of booking.
Cost: £10 per person payable on booking, plus entry into Studley Water Garden (currently £8.25) for non National Trust Members. The price includes tours of the two ‘Aislabie’ estates, return transport between the two sites, late afternoon refreshments, and some information handouts.
